Documentary on Anderson Silva: "Like Water"

"Like Water", produced by Jared Freedman, is a mixed martial arts documentary on UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva's preparation and training for his UFC 117: "Silva vs. Sonnen" title fight that went down last August at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Silva would endure four-and-a-half rounds of punishment to come back and submit challenger Chael Sonnen to retain his 185-pound title and keep his UFC unbeaten streak alive. This film was debuted in April of this year at the Tribeca Sports Film Festival. I really want to see this film. This would be our first insight into the life of this enigmatic champion, Anderson Silva. Unfortunately, I can't tell you who will air the film next. Hopefully it will air on ESPN, but we should be so lucky. Video preview is below.

From Silva's life in Brazil with his wife, three sons, and two daughters, to training with his team in Los Angeles and Miami, first-time filmmaker Pablo Croce peels back the layers of an ultimate fighter to reveal the heart of a champion. 

A man of few words, Silva does not shamelessly play into the media hype machine—although he is continuously taunted by opponents who do. He aligns more with the philosophy of Bruce Lee than Muhammad Ali, and is pound for pound just as effective. Confusing to promoters and opponents, Silva's own psychological game is a mystery, but perhaps it is just because his path is more about the simplicity of hard work and the quest for perfection. Croce's hard-hitting documentary exposes the unseen side of Ultimate Fighting and culminates in one heart-pounding fight that signifies more than just another championship.
